Dick's Tea Bar has become an iconic name in the French Alps having been established over 30 years ago. A place where countless ski holiday-makers have come to let their hair down after a day on the slopes.
|
Dick Yate-Smith opened Dick's in 1979 and had turned the one time Val d'Isere game hall into a winter jet set and celebrity hang out by the mid 80's. From 1997 onwards Dick's was taken over by a host of Uk based tour operators and has only just recently gone back to independent owners. Entrepreneurs Seb Hall and Alex Fateh took over the business in summer 2010 with the aim of rebuilding the famous name to its rightful place.
| The group had previously been neglected and needed cleaning up with each venue undergoing major renovations and general upgrades. The most notable change was the brand new layout and design of 'Dick's Tea Bar, Val d'Isere' over summer 2011 and the introduction of ‘The Den Bar and Kitchen’ in Meribel which replaced Pizza Express above Dick's. |

| There are other projects in the pipeline, none less than the newly formed 'Whitecap Ski', a packaged travel and concierge service for corporate trips to Val d'isere, able to tailor weeks or weekends for groups sizes of 4 to 400. Whitecap organises all aspects of the itinerary from A to B including acting as 24 hour resort concierge. Itineraries include organising accommodation, ski hire, bookings, discounts at restaurants, Dick's Tea Bar and Le Folie Douce as well as providing other niche services such as ski guides and heliskiing among other more adventurous excursions ! Providing a hassle free service. |
